Intern position: Exhibition Programs Assistant
20% Specific exhibition project development
75% Program preparation/management/facilitation
5% Departmental planning meetings
Duration: 150 hours, to be completed between January 10 and June 10, 2022
This Figge Art Museum is seeking a college/university student to assist with the education department's programming needs for the exhibition, Border Cantos I Sonic Border. Applicants must have a demonstrated ability with communication, both written and oral, and be comfortable working in an office environment as well as with the public. Applicants with a prior knowledge of studio art and/or museum education, as well as Spanish language speakers, are preferred. In addition to assisting with the development of exhibition-related projects, this position will require completion of tasks, such as managing certain programs, preparing program materials, and overseeing activities during a special Free Family Day. This position offers a flexible schedule, with the exception of certain programs that are already set and will require intern assistance. Applicants should be proficient with Microsoft Office, and knowledge of Publisher and Adobe is ideal.
