About

Message from Our Planet imagines a digital future where art communicates beyond our common era. Similar to the interstellar time capsule found on NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft, the artworks in this exhibition may be reconstituted from their digital code by future worlds. Comprised of works by artists working at the forefront of computing, video, and light technology, the exhibition comprises a wide-ranging investigation on the artifacts of contemporary life.

The exhibition features significant works by: Brian Bress, Jim Campbell, Daniel Canogar, Lia Chaia, Sarah Frost, Sabrina Gschwandtner, Hong Hao, Claudia Hart, Jenny Holzer, Eduardo Kac, Christian Marclay, Mignonneau & Sommerer, Michal Rovner, Jason Salavon, Peter Sarkisian, United Visual Artists, and Robert Wilson.

Organized by the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Art Foundation.
