The Drawn Image: Works from the Collection

Sponsored by the Brand Boeshaar Foundation Fund

A drawing may be a sketch, a study for another work or a complete work of art. The Drawn Image examines these different types of drawings while exploring the important role drawing plays in the creative process. The exhibition features 28 drawings, lithographs and monotypes by 20 artists, including Nicholai Fechin, Luis Jiménez, Rockwell Kent, Oskar Kokoschka, Edvard Munch, and Philip Pearlstein. These works provide a wide range of subjects, drawing mediums, and approaches that will likely inspire visitors to pick up a pencil and start drawing.

The Drawn Image: Works from the Collection is presented in conjunction with the Summer Drawing Academy at the Figge. This program for high school students is a partnership with the Western Illinois University Department of Art and the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
