Join us for the Figge's Wine & Art class for June. It is the art-making sensation that has been sweeping the Figge – fingerpainting! Instructor Amy Nielsen will guide participants in a fun-filled evening, creating an impressionistic-style painting inspired by John Leslie Breck using only their fingers. Sip on wine and socialize while creating your artwork.

Create a mosaic bird bath out of broken dishes! Learn to shape, adhere, and grout ceramic pieces to make a mosaic masterpiece. Students can bring a sack lunch/beverage and their materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

What is Plein air painting and how to approach this adventure willl be discussed in this 90 min. presentation by master painter David Anderson. Plein Air painting is becoming very popular, as artists around the world gather for “paint out” events. Similar to the French impressionists* all those years ago, landscape painters today are finding plein air painting to be rewarding and exciting. Dave will discuss equipment, practices, and planning for success.

Study the methods and techniques of the Impressionist painters: Monet, Degas, Morisot, Cassatt, Matisse, Pissarro, Breck, and more. “Light is might” in making your subject matter as the focal point through the use of broken lines and loose and fluent brushwork, in order to create a more relaxed composition. Award-winning Brad Bisbey will lead you through color theory and more. Class and Workshop Policies
Refunds and Transfers
Will be granted 10 or more business days before a class is scheduled to start. Refunds and transfers may be given after that time if requested, per the museum’s discretion. Please contact us at 563.345.6654
Cancellation and Schedule Changes
The museum reserves the right to cancel classes when minimum enrollment is not met one week prior to its starting date. In addition, changes may be made to the class and/or instructor listed. In event of inclement weather, call us at 563.345.6654 or watch the local television for updates. Alternate times for classes cancelled due to weather are at the discretion of the museum. All classes may not have the opportunity to reschedule.
