Classes will be held at the Figge and QC Co-Lab
A great clay experience for beginners or students with some clay experience. We'll cover hand-building basics and do two weeks of wheel-throwing! Each student will end this session with several finished projects and have the chance to learn about low-fire clay and colorful glazes.
- Two hand-building classes at the Figge: 10/29 and 11/5
- Wheel-throwing at the QC Co-Lab: 11/12 and 11/19
- Glazing and finishing at the Figge: 11/26 and 12/3
Rock Island artist, Carolyn Krueger, works primarily with clay. Her colorful, but functional, work is hand-built and wheel-thrown. You can find her work at her gallery, The ARTery in Rock Island. She also exhibits with MidCoast Fine Arts, Bucktown Center for the Arts, Crafted QC, ArtsWorks in LeClaire, and Escape Goat Soaps in The Village of East Davenport.
Carolyn has served on the Arts Advisory Committee for the City of Rock Island since 2007, and is an advocate for all things art in our community. She has also been teaching art and pottery for more than fifteen years and offers private lessons and classes to students of all ages.
