Join us in the John Deere Auditorium for a special viewing of the documentary Stout Hearted: George Stout and the Guardians of Art followed by a 7:30 p.m. discussion.
Stout Hearted tells the story of Iowa native George Stout, who was the leader of the Monuments Men during WW2 and was responsible for recovering over five-million pieces of art from the Nazis. This documentary was directed by Kevin Kelley and produced by Marie Wilkes of New mile Media Arts, a non-profit organization based in Iowa City, IA. The documentary lasts 81 minutes and will be followed by a discussion. This 2017 film was made possible through the support of Humanities Iowa and the Roy J. Carver Trust along with private donations.
