LOCATION: Virtual
Explore the wonderful world of dance with the University of Iowa Dance Company, in celebration of the exhibition For America: 200 Years of Painting from the National Academy of Design. Dance, a form of cultural expression woven into the identity of America, is presented here in an original performance that highlights diverse experiences in American culture throughout time. All of the works have been choreographed by a diverse group of UI faculty and guest choreographers and will be performed by student members of the UIDC. After sharing the recorded performance, UIDC Directors George de la Pena and Alex Bush will moderate a live discussion about the creation of these works and host a Q&A session with audience members.
Registrants will receive a Zoom link two hours prior to the program.
Free admission and programs for Thursdays at the Figge sponsored by Chris and Mary Rayburn
